K-Pop Update!

K-pop (abbreviation of Korean popular music or Korean pop; (케이팝) is a music genre originating in South Korea, characterized by a wide variety of audio-visual elements. Although it includes all genres of “popular music” within South Korea, the term is often used in a narrower sense to describe a modern form of South Korean pop music (kpop) drawing inspiration from a range of styles and genres from around the world!

But wait, there’s more!

Many students know that before I taught at this school, I used to live and teach in South Korea. I lived in a city called Cheonan (see video below) which was about 1 million people from 2010-2013. It was really beautiful and was in the mountains and had many temples, plus coffee shops and art galleries, and 5 different universities.  You could still take a bullet train and visit the capital city Seoul in less than an hour because the train could go more than 200 mph! I taught middle school English but also learned how to speak a little bit of Korea so I could order food, get directions, and make friends. I miss the country very much and dream of maybe opening my own music/coffee shop someday!
